Description
How can we embrace babies’ natural musical creativity and curiosity?
How can we be more intentional about the way we use music in the baby room and develop a more inspired approach to musical creativity?
How can we build up our own musical creativity so that it can infuse our work with babies and help us and them to enjoy every single day more?
In this one hour online workshop, we’ll focus on practical ways to bring more musical creativity into the baby room every single day. I’ll offer starting points for thinking about bringing more musical creativity into the baby room and then we’ll work together to develop practical ideas and tips that you can take back to your place of work to make a difference immediately. We know that musical creativity is something that binds babies, children and adults together – it’s part of what makes us who we are. So finding ways to be more musically creative with babies is part of developing a happier and healthier baby room. This workshop will leave you with:
- ideas and tips for giving creativity in your baby room a boost immediately
- opportunities to learn from other baby room educators and leaders and to connect with a like-minded community
- practical resources, including an annotated slide deck that you can use with your team to cascade the learning you take from the workshop
The workshop will be led by Dr Mona Sakr, Associate Professor in Early Childhood and author of many books about creativity in early childhood, including ‘Creativity and Making in Early Childhood’.
